Sanur beach is not for the surfers, nor is it for budget tourism. If that is what you are after than this is not the place for you. Sanur is an older, established area with locals and expatriates that live in total harmony with Balinese culture. The beach is clean and has white sand. Very few people on the beach makes this a destination for those who want privacy, peace and quiet.
Early in the morning the covered section is a hive of activity, sellers come from near & far to peddle their fresh produce some arriving in the middle of the night. Everything from fresh chicken & fish (don't expect refrigeration), vegetables & fruit, all of the necessary ingredients for offerings, even small trucks laden with trays of fresh eggs selling to the housewives in the car park. You need to take your best bargaining skills as it is expected that you haggle fiercely.
